I often share what I’m cooking up at home through my Instagram stories. As a result, I’ve received a TON of recipe requests from my followers – it’s about time I share my favourites here on the blog!

As most of you already know, we are pretty healthy eaters over here in the Rodi household. My hubby and I both love to cook; we have our household staples but we also like to mix it up and try new recipes as often as possible. I was over the moon excited when a friend of mine shared this chef’s website with me. Her site is a hub for nutritious meals – she packs all of her recipes full of clean, nutrient-dense ingredients which is what everyone NEEDS. But the thing is, they all taste SO GOOD! Even my picky husband (don’t tell him I said that – he doesn’t think he’s picky) has loved everything we have made from this website. So, here are my current top two tried and tested faves from Eating Bird Food.


Protein Pumpkin Oatmeal with Egg Whites

Think pumpkin pie, but sweet AND salty. It’s seriously heavenly! My girls love it, my friends love it, I love it. It doesn’t taste like traditional oatmeal and the best part – it’s full of protein, healthy fats, vitamins, fibre and all around deliciousness. Serve up for breakfast or lunch and you’re good to go!

This recipe is super easy to make (it takes me a whole ten minutes from start to finish – maybe nine). Oh, and I added a drizzle of pure maple syrup at the end, just to kick it up a notch – I highly recommend.

Roasted Sweet Potato Salad

Ok people, I’m telling you right now – you NEED this recipe in your life. It has quickly become one of our salad staples, and the goodness in this meal makes me giddy!

For starters, if you’re one of those “I’m not a sweet potato person”, I dare you to try this recipe. My husband has never liked sweet potato until I made this, and no joke – he goes back for seconds every time I make it.

The flavours in this recipe all come together so beautifully. It’s truly the perfect balance of everything – the avocado dulls the sweetness of the sweet potato, the red onion kicks it up a notch. This recipe is truly a nutrient-packed meal – spinach, apple cider vinegar, sweet potato, avocado – SO GOOD!
