I often get a ton of questions in my DM’s about anything and everything – life, motherhood, decor, style, travel, wellness. I’ve decided to do a short Q & A blog post every Thursday for the month of July to try and answer some of your questions. So…here we go!
Shayla asked: Would love to know your exercise routine (where you fit it in during the day and what you do). I struggle with this so much.
I hear you Shayla. Finding time to exercise when you’ve got a thousand things going on in your life can be tough. I find that scheduling in my exercise as if it’s an important appointment helps a lot. For example, on the weekends I wake up before the kids so that I can get in a quick workout. I plan ahead, set the ‘appointment’ to myself, set my alarm, and get up and do it. Some mornings I have no interest in working out and would rather lay in bed then make my way to the basement and lift some weights. I always find it helps when I remind myself of how I’ll feel once the workout is done. This feeling is the BEST!
I always say that it’s important to set yourself up for success. If you’re not a morning person, don’t exercise in the morning. Plan a time that you will realistically be able to commit to. As well, ease your way in if you have to. Commit to three workouts per week if this is manageable for you.
I really don’t exercise for longer than 40 minutes each time (sometimes only 30). I usually do two Tone It Up Workout Videos (talk about motivation..these girls are KILLING it). I also love running…I find it’s an amazing stress reliever. In the end, do what works for you and what you enjoy.
Kelly asked: What paint colour is your main floor?
The paint colour is ‘Hidden Cove’ #D22-5-0210-0. It’s a really nice neutral!
Sarah asked: What’s your late night routine after the kids go to bed?
I do absolutely NOTHING after the kids go to bed. I’m really not a late night person. By 8pm, my energy is completely gone. I tend to power through the day and get everything accomplished that I possibly can, and then it’s ‘me’ time. Nick and I will usually watch a show and then I’ll read and listen to meditation music before I call it a night.

Jesse asked: How did you start blogging?
I started my blog last year when I was a full time stay at home mom, and really wanted something to call my own. My husband actually talked me into starting one, but it took me a while to build up the courage to open up and share my life with the world.
Originally it started as a hobby, I had no clue I could make a real living off of blogging. Because I was so passionate about it, I started investing hours and hours into learning everything there is to know about blogging, branding, and social media. Since last September, I have invested a ton of time into growing my blog (I can probably count on one hand the number of days ‘off’ I have taken, in total). But, I absolutely love blogging and all of you amazing women motivate me to try and always provide you value in various areas of your lives. You all are AMAZING!
