Looking for a pretty (and delicious) summer cocktail to serve at your next dinner party with your girlfriends? You’re in luck. This Lavender and Cherry Rosé Spritzer is perfect for a hot summer day, and the hints of lavender add a subtle flavour that you wouldn’t normally find in your typical cocktail.
I have been OBSESSED with lavender lately. It may be due to the fact that we have a lavender farm five minutes down the road from us, but using lavender as an edible never crossed my mind until this summer. As a side note: Lavender is actually known to be packed with ‘purifying’ traits. Research has shown that it may help with the alleviation of insomnia, anxiety and stress (yes please). Lavender also contains Vitamin A, Iron, and Calcium. Be sure to use the culinary Lavender, which is called ‘English Lavender’.
After purchasing a pile of lavender, I decided to play around with it and create some drink recipes. This Lavender and Cherry Rosé definitely stood out among the rest, so I hope you’ll love it too!
Ingredients (per glass)
4 oz Rosé Wine
2 oz Soda Water
2-3 Sprigs Fresh (or dried) English Lavender
6 Cherries (save 1 for garnish)
1-2 tbsp Natural Maple Syrup
Remove the lavender flowers off of one sprig, and add them to a small bowl. Add the cherries (pits removed) and maple syrup to the same bowl, and muddle (feel free to lightly blend this combination if preferred).
Pour the lavender and cherry syrup into the bottom of a wine glass. Add the rosé wine and soda water to the glass. Garnish with one cherry and one sprig of lavender. ENJOY!
*If you like your cocktails a little bit sweeter (or more dry), feel free to adjust the maple syrup amount as necessary.*

Lots of love,
