As some of you already know, we have a beautiful lavender farm five minutes down the road from us and because it’s in peak season, I’ve been cooking with it a lot. The aroma, the flavour, the health benefits… it’s one of my favourite herbs!
I invited some girlfriends over for brunch, so I decided to whip up a batch of Lavender Honey Biscuits. They are such a beautiful touch when entertaining, and the lavender flavour mixed with the honey is perfection!
Oh, and this recipe is the biggest Pillsbury hack EVER! I love baking from scratch when I have the time, but when I’m in a rush to make something pretty and tasty for my guests, this is the recipe I go for!
1 Package of Pillsbury Biscuits (found in the refrigerator section at your local grocery store)
1-2 tbsp Fresh or Dried Culinary Lavender (you can find culinary lavender here)
2 tbsp Melted Butter
1/2 cup Honey
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a cookie sheet or use parchment paper. Remove the Pillsbury dough from the package. Use cookie cutter to shape each pre-cut biscuit into a heart shape. Place heart shaped biscuits on cookie sheet, and coat each biscuit lightly with butter. Sprinkle each biscuit with lavender (add more or less depending on the intensity of the flavour you want). Gently press the lavender into each biscuit to keep the flakes from falling off. Bake biscuits for 5 minutes, check the bottoms (make sure they don’t burn), and bake for 1-2 minutes longer depending on level of doneness.
Remove biscuits from oven and let cool completely. Drizzle the biscuits with honey. Keep remainder of honey in a small bowl. Add 1 tbsp of lavender and 1 tbsp of lemon juice to the bowl of honey and mix. Use this honey mixture as a dip or spread for your biscuits. ENJOY!
Lots of love,
