Stacey from Sweet Bakery was kind enough to provide you all with her special recipe, and I’m telling you…it’s the only Macaron recipe you will ever need. The buttercream filling that is mushed between the most drool-worthy ‘cookies’ that are both crisp and soft (is your mouth watering yet?) will have your guests wanting to bring some home in a paper bag.
Food & Drink
If you’re looking to do something a little bit different this Valentine’s Day, consider hosting a Galentine’s brunch with your besties. Pop the champagne, indulge in some sweets, and make time to catch up and enjoy some time together.
I‘m kind of obsessed with appetizers. I mean…I’d be fine with replacing a meal with a bunch of finger foods any day of the week. Maybe it’s because of the variety of flavours and number of options to choose from…I’m not quite sure. Maybe it ties into the fact that I’ve always loved eating a bit of everything.
My mom and I went on a holiday home tour several weeks ago and at one of the homes, they were serving Mulled Wine. I had never tried Mulled Wine before, and clearly I had been missing out! Mulled Wine has quickly turned into one of my favourite warm holiday drinks. It has all the wintery ‘feels’ with flavours (and scents) of citrus, cinnamon, maple, and pomegranate. You’ll love whipping a batch of this up just for the aroma alone; it’s heavenly!
When the holiday season arrives, I begin craving all of the flavours that are in this loaf. Cranberry and orange are the perfect wintery combo, and can we just talk about the smell from the oven?! You don’t need to be burning a candle when you’re baking this loaf, that’s for sure! The aroma is amazing!! This loaf is definitely more of a ‘dessert’ or ‘sweet bread’. Typically when I’m baking for the family, we limit the sugars and use replacements that are healthier options.
